Dear Dr Lafford,
I was so thrilled to see news of you in the Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust Newsletter. I remember so well my parents talking about you as we lived in Harold Street, next door to you! I'm not sure that we ever met (unless you returned once) as I wasn't born until after you left Hereford. Both my parents died some years ago but I know you will remember them - Margaret and Alfred Brook. I too sang in Hereford Choral Society and Three Choirs, going on to Teacher Training in Liverpool and then to Trinity College of Music for a supplimentary year.

I think that you've led a very varied and interesting life and I enjoyed looking through your website. I have a cousin Mary Lafford who lives in Chatham, UK, who I believe is a distant relative of yours. We also share something in common as both have composed a substancial amount of music for organ.
